Broke the pinkie toe on my right foot Saturday, opening the gate to the driveway on my way to run a day full of errands. True to my family of origin, I just shoved my foot into my clog and went around town for the next 5 hours in pain, and ignoring it.
Now my toe looks like a miniature eggplant. I've gotten very, very good at athletic wrapping. At least my feet match again, since it was two years ago that the RLA rearranged the furniture in the bedroom and in the middle of the night, when I jumped up to let the cat in out of the rain, I swung around the end of the bed and right into a chair leg, snapping the pinkie toe on my left foot.

Ouch. I haven't broken my pinkie toe but I did manage to step out my front door a few years ago, and twist my foot just the right way to break the outer bone on my right foot. I didn't think anything about it except to grab my Keds just in case I wanted to change out of my sandal later in the day. Drove Shelby to school and then on to work. (By the way, my car is stick shift.) Once I got to work, I took one step out of the car and then collapsed back into the car. My office building has never seemed so far away. I drove over to my aunt's office where she took one look at it and carted me off to the ER. I was a proud owner of an ugly blue shoe for a few weeks. Matched the ugly bruise quite well.
Hope the bruising and swelling go down quickly!

Yeeouch!
I think my pinkie toes are probably the only ones of my toes that I haven't broken.

When I was a sophomore in high school, I slammed my pinkie toe against the wall, breaking it. And then I shoved my foot into sparkly, strappy, 4 inch high silver shoes and danced all night.
I think we might be related. :)
